Shri P A Padmanabhan, a central government employee who worked on various community led initiatives in Andaman & Nicobar islands after his retirement in the year 2008 focused on community based water literacy and conservation programmes in and around his native village in Trivandrum. He indigenously developed the injection model of ground water recharging using pressure chamber techniques* which became a success after it helped many villages recover from water shortage problems during peak summers consistently for many years since its deployment.

After working over the decade with a local Panchayat registration to operate, it was decided to register the entity formally as a not for profit NGO to offer our support and technology beyond the borders of Trivandrum. The two main reasons that had a bearing on us was a) refining the technology and b) benchmarking to consistent results over half a decade in line with rainfall patterns. From a one man army it has now grown into a dedicated team of volunteers.
